Are you ready for a challenge? Here are four ways to take 1 STEP as a Next Step.
One. Join us tomorrow morning at 11am as we celebrate the ordination of Mark Kiesel to the Sacred Order of Deacons. Bishop William will ordain Mark and Archbishop Kolini will be preaching. New Covenant is blessed to have these opportunities to host ministry partners from here in the US as well as our partners from around the globe to participate in the mission of God in the world.
Two. Welcome Archbishop Kolini and Bishop William this Sunday morning. We are blessed to have them with us following the clergy retreat in Nashville this week. Please don't be shy. Say hello before the service or at the Peace. Their flight leaves early in the afternoon, so they will be leaving for the airport immediately after the service.
Three. Take part in a "Great Meal Challenge" this week, October 24-30. During this week, we hope you will share a meal with a person who does not yet know Christ. Many of you began praying last week to know who you might ask.
If you have already chosen who you will invite over for dinner, pull up a chair to share the lunch table, or for who to pick up a second cup of coffee on your way into the office, great.
If all three of those options have you feeling a distinct loss of appetite, there
is hope.
Join us Sunday morning at 9am in the Parish Hall as we share strategies, answer questions, and award door prizes to equip you to share a meal that includes food and hope.
Four. Celebrate with James and Sara Doss (and the Doss and Hite families) on Sunday at 10am as they present Elise Joy Doss for her baptism. Please pray for her and her family as they prepare for this great day. If you have questions about baptism and how it points to the good news of Jesus Christ, please contact any of the church clergy or staff. We have several baptisms scheduled between now and the end of the year, and would love to share the gospel and this sacrament with you and your family.
As we each take STEPS to serve, trust, eat and pray as an expression of our commitment to Jesus and one another, we can share in God's work around us.
Thank you for your prayers while we were away and back again. Please pray for our Church Administrator, Karen Staton, as she is with her mother, whose health is failing.
See you Sunday,
Christopher+
