Prayer for today.

Almighty Father, who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord: give us such knowledge of his presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Question for today.

St Paul says that the gospel he received is the gospel he passed along to the churches he founded. (1 Corinthians 15) Christ died and was raised according to the expectation and fulfillment of the Scriptures. Telling the story of Jesus is a succinct and focused way of telling the story of the Bible. And the story of Jesus captivates our imaginations as it compels our worship.
